Congressman Elijah Cummings agrees with Congressman Raskin that the Israel Anti-Boycott Act is Unconstitutional

Tonight three of Maryland's Democratic Congressman held a town-hall meeting at the War Memorial Building in Baltimore. Before the event, as he was walking in, Owen Andrews asked Congressman Elijah Cummings (D-MD-07) if he agreed with Congressman Jamie Raskin that the Israel Anti-Boycott Act was unconstitutional.

Congressman Cummings said that he agreed that the bill was unconstitutional:

Owen: "I'm the Baltimore chapter leader of Jewish Voice for Peace and I wanted to thank you for not co-sponsoring the Israel Anti-Boycott Act. And I wondered if you had heard Senator Van Hollen and Congressman Raskin's reasons why they are not co-sponsoring it. That they say it is potentially unconstitutional. And whether you share that view."

"Yeah, Raskin and I talked about it at length. He's on my committee. Yeah, I do share that view."

Watch Congressman Cummings' statement here.

We thank and applaud Congressman Cummings for taking this position.

This Bill is audacious, an affront to the sovereighninity of the American People. The Zionists are over playing their hand on this one.
