Today Maryland's newest Congressman, Jamie Raskin (D-MD-08) held a discussion at Saint John's Episcopal Church (Norwood Parish) Bethesda-Chevy Chase.
After the discussion, questions were taken from the audience. One audience-member Thomas Russell Congressman if he supported Senator Ben Cardin's Israel Anti-Boycott Act which could jail boycotters of Israel for up to 20 years. Raskin harshly condemned the bill:
"I'm completely opposed to that legislation. And I told Senator Cardin last week that I thought it was unconstitutional. The Supreme Court in a case called NAACP vs. Claiborne Hardware determined that the First Amendment includes the right to boycott whoever you want."

We thank and applaud Congressman Raskin for taking this position.
